Chelsea Wayant is an independent filmmaker from Boulder, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a BFA in film production and from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a terminal MFA in film and video production. Over the last 20 years she has taught a variety of film production, writing, and studies classes at several colleges and universities, including Bennett College in Greensboro, NC and the University of Colorado Denver.

Strength and Beauty is her second feature film. The film premiered at the Portobello Film Festival in London and played at the Eye Institute in Amsterdam. BLOUINARTUK named Strength and Beauty a top five film to watch at the Portobello Film Festival and a Columbia SC newspaper, What Jasper said, called it “a beautifully constructed film experience.” Strength and Beauty was distributed through Kanopy and made available at many public libraries as well as most major college and university libraries. Her first feature film, Drowning Slowly (2009), won best narrative feature at the Ava Gardner International Film Festival.
